Timber is in my blood.
I have been involved in the timber and sawmilling industry for over 15 years in Africa. I have operated my own sawmills, marketed timber and produced semi and finished products for export markets. I have sold capital equipment and set up projects across Africa.
I’m also passionate about the continent and its people. Wood-Mizer’s products can change the collective future of the continent by giving Africa’s inhabitants the ability to derive increased value from its natural resources. Importantly also is to be custodians of our forest assets and by managing it well to also preserve this precious resource for our own and our children’s futures.
I am excited for the future of sawmilling in Africa.
Wood-Mizer’s presence on the continent is growing steadily as more discover the benefits of our thin-kerf blade technology. Since establishing a branch office in 2011, we have focused on building a foundation of service and support for your sawmilling success.

I’ve been selling Wood-Mizer machinery for the past 13 years – my blood is orange!
I’ve seen this brand evolving on the continent to its present form and it excites me to see how far we’ve has come during this time.
With plenty of new product launches set to arrive on the continent, it’s never been a better time to be part of the Wood-Mizer family.
I initially focused on an accounting career after I completed my studies at the University of Stellenbosch. A brief stint at Murray and Roberts in an accounting position convinced me that sales might be a better option. A two-year stay at Dimension Data’s Converged Communications division proved this to be true, the opportunity to join the Wood-Mizer team confirming this. I believe I bring passion and dedication to my position together with vested technical ability.
Joining Wood-Mizer in 2013 renewed my association with the brand that started in 1996 when I joined Gearing Moss Supplies.
My focus until 2004 was the sourcing new business and supporting existing clients in the woodworking and sawmilling sectors in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. Tooling, machinery and sawmilling equipment plus the training and maintenance of equipment in these sectors were key focus areas.
Heading up Wood-Mizer Africa’s sales activities in West Africa is a unique challenge that allows me to use my competencies to unlock new markets for Wood-Mizer in French speaking Africa.
The skills developed while managing two demanding divisions in the domestic and regional Africa travel arena have served me well since joining Wood-Mizer Africa in 2013.
In addition to managing large parts of the quoting and invoicing process for new machine and spare part sales, I also look oversee:
- Machine assembly scheduling
- Spare part monitoring and re-ordering
- Stock rotation
- General assistance to line-function managers, representatives and dealers
Since becoming part of the Wood-Mizer family in 2013, my experience in the retail and timber sector has the been the perfect launch pad for the sales and technical support portfolio that I oversee on behalf of Wood-Mizer in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape Provinces.
I am really privileged to look after these diverse and dynamic regions, even more so if you consider how many Wood-Mizer’s are already running in these provinces.
My decision in 2012 to join Wood-Mizer has been a wonderful gear shift for me.
Being part of the team first saw me handling the Receptionist portfolio then assisting our COO in my capacity as PA to him and now becoming the Office Administrator for Wood-Mizer Africa’s headquarters in South Africa.
My appointment in 2012 as Wood-Mizer Africa’s Financial Manager has given me a unique opportunity to document Wood-Mizer’s rapid financial success, that in no small measure due to the wonderful support from our customers across Africa.
Please be assured of my ongoing attention to every detail of your account with us. Also feel free to contact me with all your financial enquiries and needs.
Effective communication is the cornerstone of any business’ success.
The explosion in media options now at our fingertips allows Wood-Mizer to reach out to our customers and friends in Africa in print, electronic, billboard, video & sound bite.
I look forward to bringing you the latest news, insights and new developments from Wood-Mizer in 2015 and beyond.
As the longest serving member of the Wood-Mizer Africa team, I joined Wood-Mizer in 1992, first as a general maintenance worker and then quickly on to machine assembly and further.
As workshop manager since 1996, I oversee all machine assembly, pre-delivery inspections and machine operator training activities. Technical installations and field repairs also form part of my brief.
Becoming part of the Wood-Mizer Africa team has added in no small measure to the 34 years I’ve spent practicing my trade in the sector. As one of only a few qualified Saw Doctors in South Africa, I now oversee Wood-Mizer’s technical installation work across Africa. I also administer Wood-Mizer’s branch office that manages sales in the Western and Southern Cape.
I have been involved in Wood-Mizer spares for the past 15 years – first via the original representative of Wood-Mizer on the continent - Gearing Moss – and then as part of Austro while they represented the brand locally.
My position now with Wood-Mizer Africa not only continues the legacy but also affirms that my blood is indeed ORANGE!
I joined the Wood-Mizer Africa team in 2014, managing various administrative portfolios as and when required.
As the latest member of the team, it’s a real honour to join Wood-Mizer at this point in its history. As a recent Wood Technology graduate from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University – George Campus or Saasveld as it is known, I will form part of the technical installation team that makes sure that all new mills going into into Africa are properly installed to customer satisfaction.
I left my country of birth - the Democratic Republic of Congo aged 25 after earning a BSC degree at Kinshasa University. Political events in the DRC forced my relocation to Zambia first and SA later where I now permanently reside. Marketing and liaison strengths together with my multi-lingual abilities provided the basis for appointment at Wood-Mizer Africa in 2014.
